"Just 'cause I joke and smoke a lot, don't mean I don't tote the Glock" "Machine Gun Funk" (1994) — The Notorious B.I.G.

I've carried this line with me for a long time. Certainly not as long as it has been around (I was way late to Biggie's music), but a long time nonetheless. Not only is it the thesis of AstroRot but a personal ethos of mine: I am obstreperous, sometimes downright silly, and I approach life with a healthy dose of tongue-in-cheek sarcasm; but do not assume the jokes mean I do not take life/astrology/whatever seriously. Those who figure I'm easy to underestimate are making a

I see AstroRot as a mirror, not a crystal ball. I approach astrology and tarot from a holistic and psychological perspective; they are a means to gain clarity and self-understanding. One should not blindly base decisions (of any magnitude) off what they read in a horoscope or on a card. Rather, these tools should be used analytically for empowerment and reflection. The meaning you discover comes from within you.

That is simply my stance, however, and I am not asking it to be yours. In fact, I encourage you to develop your own understanding through study and practice of these topics should they interest you... I'm hoping that, if you have found yourself on this page you are, at the very least, morbidly curious. I have no interest in convincing anyone of astrology; this website is for those who are interested. Let's live and let live on this one [sorry Paul/Axl].

For those who are excited to read more, my Astro Goblins, I hope to provide deeper analysis alongside my ongoing studies. The 'Astrology for Weirdos' is me being tongue-in-cheek... this is astrology for anyone with an inquisitive mind. For the people who read a natal chart the same way they would a box score. For the people who compare the different influences of the planets to the differences in terroir between wine regions such as Bordeaux and Champagne.

If you are someone who looks for patterns, looks for deeper meaning in things, looks for the thing that 'clicks' then AstroRot is definitely for you.

What you aren't going to find on AstroRot is me feeling #blessed in an oversized sweater sipping tea in a cabin. That aesthetic is more than fine, it just isn't me. I am a guy from the Rust Belt who is as fascinated by astrology as he is the Buffalo Bills and who is excited to share my journey (and resulting knowledge) on these pages. There won't be any fortune telling. Swearing? Sure. Bad jokes? Absolutely... but underneath it all there will be real study, real technique, and real desire to share these fascinating topics with you.

This idea of starting a website has been percolating inside me for some time now and it has evolved over the last several years. AstroRot is the result of me making the decision to stop waiting until everything is 'perfect' or 'all my ducks are in a row'; something I have been mindful of since reading Start Now, Get Perfect Later by Rob Moore. I am taking the PAA Level 1 Certification in September '26 but wanted to start putting myself out there now. Besides, it's not like I will wake up the next day like some Thomas A. Anderson transitioning into Neo discovering I have learned all there is to know about astrology, quite the opposite... this is a lifelong journey, if I kept waiting until I 'knew everything' this would never come to pass.

I look forward to interacting with the Astro Goblins who decide to join me on this journey whether it is via email, through social media [which I am still mentally preparing myself to be a part of], or in-person at conferences or sporting events. As always, thank you for your time and remember to stay true to yourself.
